Not only is the weather heating up next week, but the summer teams competition preliminary rounds are becoming hot, hot, hot with some surprising scores this week. Big Sticks, The Roadies and Woollie Ones all had scores under 120. Who’s Your Caddy is encroaching on 1st place, which has been solidly occupied by Mostly Family, they are now only one point off the pace. Clearly some players are coming home with the wind in their sails and are hoping to score some of the magnificent prizes the committee are working hard to secure. Todd Carter was the individual winner this week, on a countback from Brett Rankin – well done Todd, a great score of 26.
Nearest the pin on the 2nd is for handicappers above 10. Well done to all players who manage to get on any green with one shot, but the 2nd hole is reserved for the higher handicappers.
Just a reminder the presentation day lunch is on the 23rd March – put that date in your diaries. It will be a good chance to get together with your team mates and other summer teams players, have lots of fun, relive the season and tell grand stories of the birdies that should have been……..

The Summer Teams Committee
Welcome back summer teams golfers and may you have a very enjoyable year on the greens, which are magnificent at the moment – a credit to our very hardworking ground staff.
The summer layoff has not been kind to some golfers, with teams scoring much higher than normal. This far into the season, there is very little movement on the ladder with ‘Mostly Family’ maintaining their number one position despite a higher score than normal of 128. ‘Big Sticks’ had an impressive score of 107.
Congratulations to our voucher winner this week, Ian Rankin on 24. Hot on his heels was Emily Greer from ‘Beginners Luck’ with a fabulous score of 25.
No players with a handicap of above 10 managed to get on the 2nd green this week.
Just a couple of gentle reminders – please write your name on your card, your teams rounds can be played in advance, not in retrospect. Also, make sure your card is in the box by 6pm Sunday, the scores of players who are still out on the course after 6pm on the Sunday will not be counted.
There are only 5 more weeks before the finals, so encourage your team mates to get out there on the course and hone their skills. The committee are again sourcing some fabulous prizes for the presentation which will prove to be a day of fun and frivolity 😊
